July 2000... The White House is in the background. The
students are taking a break against what is called the "Zero
Stone". All distances in the United States are measured from this
stone, according to our tour guide. One of the students thought he saw the
President taking a walk around the White House. What do you think? (Photo: A look back to the summer of 2000)....Update (Now Summer of 2009)....Jarrell is in the center with the white T-shirt: He is working as an I.T. at a Charter School...a graduate of ITT Tech in Computer Security & attending University of Phoenix in Computer Technology) James...to his right is becoming a medical doctor.....Treci (female) and brother Cole (in back) attending college. Jarrett (right) played football?) |

Medical Doctor Cheryl Browne is one of our Volunteer Tutors. She is shown here with Lauren and Fredrick Douglas at the Douglas House in Washington D.C. Doctor Cheryl tutored the students in Economics and in the History of Black Americans. She had each of the students to budget their spending money (not very much money, I might add). Doctor Cheryl helped to make a success out of the field trip to Washington D.C. and New York. Doctor Cheryl is a very active participant in the education of our youth and she does it all for free! Her lessons to the students are found throughout this website. |
