A New Volunteer Tutor: Robyn! A new Student.....Kaehla of King Drew Magnet School: Both members of New Philly!

December 2, 2006...Saturday, 9:00AM-12:30: Gynaa of Luzinger High School and I worked more than 3 hours on the High School Exit Exam. We graphed line after line; utilizing the "elimination and substitution" method (Algebra) in solving a system of equations to find a solution. Gynaa is now prepared to take the Exam on next Saturday. We have all of the confidence in the world....that she will pass....and so does she!
December 3, 2006....Robyn and I discussed her entrance into our Program as a Volunteer Tutor. She says she is now ready to assist the students with their homework. Welcome Robyn of New Philly!
Kaehla attends King Drew. She, and her aunt were in Church today (New Philadelphia A.M.E). We discussed her previous attendance in our Program on Saturdays, from 9:00AM until 12:30 PM.
Roshanda also attends New Philadelphia A.M.E. Church. Her son, Gregory, is one of our students. I told her of my upcoming vacation that would last for one week. She said Gregory would be attending this week to receive homework assistance in all of his classes. Robyn will probably be coming over at the same time to assist.
It is amazing that so many of the students in our Tutoring Program attend New Philadelphia A.M.E Church: many being baptized shortly after we brought them to this great Church. New and older students are everywhere....Shalay (from "F" to "A") Aaron, Stephen, Donald, Devin, Micah, Deryon, Ashley, Gabriel, Cole, Tracey, Jarrett, (Rev. Gentry's grandson), Brittany, Ke'Ontra, Ashlyn....and the list goes on and on! Many thanks to the Missionary Society for their commitment to donate at least $25 per month to our Service. Many thanks to Rick and Marilyn for their commitment to donate $25 per month. Many thanks to Nellie Green for her continuing financial support. Gil Greene is now deceased, but never forgotten...Thank God for allowing this fine gentleman of New Philly, and my friend of more than 35 years to interact with this Organization by making financial contributions and offering words of encouragement when I saw him on Sundays. God is good....all of the time.....as we continue along this path that He has chosen for us.
We do not know how to fail....God, keep us very strong, as You have done.....for more than 8 years of teaching Your Children all that we know about Math and Science......as well as how to achieve a high level of success in going to Colleges and Universities...to make of themselves "Witnesses of Your Love"....Amen
