To the Principal, Counselors and Teachers of __________________________________________
I, Cleophas Mike McAlpin, am the Executive Director of the Nonprofit Corporation, "A Free Tutoring Service: Preparing for the Future". Our services are completely free. We do require parents to donate a minimum amount to cover administrative cost. We receive no monetary compensation (salary). Our main goal is to assist students in the elevation of their grade point averages. We assist with homework, counsel them and have them to interact with the Professional Community. We are asked by parents if we would assist their child and we readily say "yes". We never advertise, yet find that we have approximately 16 students all of the time! We are in existence to assist the student, and you. 99.99% of all teachers are receptive to us. However, not all appreciate us for one reason or the other. We can live with that! I am asking you to communicate with me in regards to your student_________________________________. Please send me an e-mail or call if he or she has not turned in assignments; has discipline problems; has failed an examination; is not improving; falls below a "C"; is late for class; or any other thing that would cause them to not make an "A" or "B" in your class! If you have a Teacher Website, let us know of it. My telephone number is (310) 635-4536 or (310) 351-1950. We meet on Tuesday, Wednesday afternoons, and on Saturday mornings and Sunday afternoons after church (by appointment). We meet no less than 20 hours per week. We assist with the homework you give; reinforcing what you teach, in the manner that you teach it; and we sometimes go a little bit beyond, and sometimes a bit backwards to bring the student up to the level of their grade. Upon entering the Service, we place the student's photo on our website, www.cmcalsfreetutoring.com , tracking their progress with our Homework Assistance, Lesson Reviews, Field Trips and Interaction with Professionals. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to assist your student. Most of our students end with G.P.A.'s of between 3.5 - 4.0. The Teachers are 99.9% responsible for this; we are only in existence to assist them!...and we truly thank them for all of their efforts...and we thank God for dedicated Teachers! To the Parents:
Have a bit of confidence in me! Why? Because I had been interacting with the youth for nearly 40 years! Back in 1968, or thereabouts, I served as the 1st Scoutmaster of what is now the City of Carson. Not only did I teach 15 scouts the fine art of tying the "sheepshank knot" and the "square knot", but I also introduced them to the fine art of electronics, teaching them about the circuitry of the Terrain Avoidance Computer of Jet Aircraft; The Inertial Guidance Systems of the Minuteman-One Missile; The Gyroscopes; The Velocity Meters; The Air-Bearing-Gyroscopes; The Stable Platform; Performance of Missiles necessary to sell to the United States Air Force; Civil Surveying; Electricity and Electronics; The fine art of being an Advanced Class Ham Operator; and as much of the Physics, High Level Mathematics, Chemistry, that their minds could absorb! Some did absorb, and that is why they are enjoying high level jobs these days! Parents, you are required to donate fee of $35 as a monthly donation amount. That is the only monetary requirement! It is due during the first week of our interaction with the student. We are a nonprofit Corporation and depend on donations for our existence. Anyone desiring to assist us will be given a tax deductible receipt. Tutors are receiving more than $40 an hour: I would charge $50 for all that I do! But, I am charging absolutely nothing. The donations are necessary to sustain us until some large Corporation decides to...and that they will surely do...as I spend countless hours letting the world know of our most Powerful Organization through our website! Please let the school teachers know that you would like to know if your child is failing..... right away, and not a week before..... the grades are to be turned in! I can attempt to do miracles with regards to your child's education were I to know the status of performance on a weekly basis in classrooms. Ask about missing homework and Projects due: Ask about Progress Reports that sometimes find their way into the trash dumpsters! Be well informed as to your child's education: visiting their classrooms at least once every three weeks.
To the Teachers:
First, I did have a license to teach in schools, but declined in favor of entering a "World of Electronics and Electricity". First of all, I placed God before everything else in my life. Then I asked Him what I should do....and He told me....to assist as many of the young people as you can. That is what I am still doing....after so many years....because that is my passion! I will never accept monetary allowance; only that intangible reward that comes from God! These things I must say to continue defecting the negativism that I hear too much about!
Questions for Parents:
(1.) Are you willing to work more than 40 hours per week for absolutely no pay?
(2.) Are you willing to give up all of your vacation time to teach students throughout the year?
(3.) Are you willing to donate thousands upon thousands of dollars to an Organization that engages in teaching children?
(4.) Are you willing to sacrifice your family time to teach students and to take them on Field Trips?
(5.) Are you willing to provide a Tutoring Location that can be used to teach more than 500 students for free over 8 years?
If your answer to any of the questions above is a "yes", then we can use you as a Volunteer Tutor in this Organization. In that case, you have the option to donate or not to donate at least $35 per month to this Nonprofit Corporation: Otherwise you are expected to do your part financially, unless there is some underlying reason you are not able. If Parents are not willing to donate this amount, then this Service might not be open to your children!
