Mike,
below is a copy of the Women of Worth Award that covers the support I provide to
"A
Free Tutoring".
I am not familiar with this award and it is the first time someone has nominated
me so I
do not know what will happen to the
Award, but as I have stated if I happen to be a winner, I would definitely
designate “A Free Tutoring Service” to receive the $5,000.

SUBJECT:
Women of Worth 2006 Nomination Package
C/O THE POINTS OF LIGHT FOUNDATION
It is with great pride that I submit Mrs. Patricia
Kirk-McAlpine for the 2006 L’Oreal Women of Worth Award.
Even with her significant duties and responsibilities as a senior
government official she still gives generously of her time and resources. Mrs.
Kirk-McAlpine has made a lasting difference in our community through her
leadership and outstanding service to several local and national humanitarian
social service organizations. Her
service has been extraordinary both in terms of diversity of worthwhile
endeavors the tenure of her support, and the impact to those less fortunate in
our community.
She is the very model of a senior government executive through her
involvement with the community. As
outlined in the description of numerous works she has served every position from
committee member to chairperson of the boards in organizations such as the
Combined Federal Campaign, Alpha Kappa Alpha, and Habitat for Humanity, as well
as her time given at places like King-Drew Medical Center and a free tutoring
service.
Due to her dedication and service she has been recognized with numerous
awards and recognitions to include receiving the AF Presidential Rank Award from
President George W. Bush on 20 April 2006 in
I submit this recommendation with the strongest endorsement for
selection.
