Another Editorial: To be continued....

Editorials allow me to vent my frustrations. There are approximately 15 on this Site. Everything  from ....  "My Culture Stands Against Me"...to...."Changing Demographics of Education in Los Angeles."  I must vent again and say...."I really do not understand how a parent can stand by and watch a child fail....because of ethnicity." What else could it be, when I stand before a group of 9th graders in a Los Angeles High School, to find out some are failing? They eagerly take my telephone number down, or a business card, to give to a parent, but, alas...not too many takers! Why?? is the question.

I do get that initial call from a parent, sometimes Hispanic, to ask about our Service. I usually tell them to look at the site...and then call back. Some parents take a look, perhaps, and never call back. Why? Is it because of our seriousness, or is it because of some other reason....I hope it is not Race....because Race plays an important role...more than it should ....in the educational process. I have taught many Hispanics in the past....so is it Racial when I don't get that "second call" I consider it a monumental task to "pay someone" (Hispanic) to teach the students in our Organization....Spanish. Marci Williams is a Latina who came over for more than 3 years to teach all students Spanish. She was indeed sent by God! And she stands as my Church Sister. She is on this Site as a Volunteer Tutor. I have asked countless others to please assist with Spanish, but alas, no takers. I have promised to pay, but no takers. Why?
