Below: Cassandra, now 20, came by to assist Ti'man (11) Video (click!), Kenneth (13) and Brandon (13) with their homework. It was a grand reunion for my star Geometry student and me. We met approximately 6 years ago when Cassandra was having a lot of trouble with Geometry. She blazed through with ease after a few sessions of tutoring. Cassandra assisted Brandon with a review of basic math, as well as had him read and interpret what he had read for reading comprehension. She checked Ti' man's homework for accuracy, and treated Kenneth to a meal of Louisiana chicken!
Cassandra spent well over 2 hours assisting the students. Video (click!) I then took her home. What a great feeling to have our "students of old" ( Jarrell lectures on video (Jarrell 20, once failing, speaks! 3/4/07 ) drop in to assist with the education of our youth. It is as I dreamed and prayed for; students of old returning to pull up the younger students. Cassandra is now in sales and has a child, Ryder (6-months), that she and her husband, Michael adorn. See another "student of old", Keyotta :(click!) She communicates with me often as she anticipates her return to Southern University, majoring in Nursing. Below...bottom, and to the right: Christine never forgets to call her new "Pop-Pop" (grandfather) every afternoon to tell me she loves me. What a joy to have this caring 15-year old elevate her grade point average, which was quite low a few months ago! Christine will celebrate her 16th birthday this upcoming Saturday with a "skating bash" at World on Wheels in West Los Angeles. I, along with her family and friends, will make this a wonderful "sweet sixteen party" for this delightful teen.

has been a student since 3 months of age! She is super-smart and can hang with
the best of the 12-year olds! She has been practicing for her "moment in the
spotlight" as she poses time and time again before my camera!
"Just
Chilling"...is her way of letting you know she is "all that".
Way to go.....my little grand daughter. Those are her words!
