"Mr. Mike and his Supporters make the New
Philadelphia A.M.E. Church (click) magazine
with The "Free Tutoring Service"! The article below appeared in
the January 2007 issue. The only corrections are: We meet on
Tuesday
through Thursday, from 3:30PM until 7:30PM and also on Saturday
mornings from 10:00AM until 12:30PM" Kaelah (14)
is a new student from King Drew Magnet School. She is a resident of Carson and a
member of Nu Philly. Her Aunt, Catherine, was attending the 7:00AM Service, but
says she will now attend the 10:00 AM Service. Robyn (Usher) will join us as
soon as she completes some school obligations.
A Tribute to one of our Volunteer Tutors....James Wilson of the Postal Service....now deceased (below). A part of this Site is dedicated in his Honor...James, we will surely miss you! Thank you for all of your assistance and caring about the youth of our Communities....Cleophas Mike McAlpin.....classmate: and very good friend: Member of the Fairfield High School Alumni Association.

James Wilson...Financial
Supporter & Volunteer Tutor: Volunteer Tutors serve to lecture the students
on their careers and what it took to achieve their goals. They are what we call
"Interaction with the Professional Community". They are only connected
to this Organization "educatioally" to assist the students, and are
not connected to this Organization in any other way. Volunteers are always
necessary if a nonprofit corporation is to survive: volunteers receive no pay,
only that intangible reward that comes from God. Thanks to all who volunteer to
assist with the education of our youth! January
7, 2007...Happy 70th Birthday .....James
Wilson (always a financial supporter) of the
Fairfield Alabama Industrial High School Alumni
Association. James was involved in an accident that left him ill, but his
good humor and spirit are inspirational to us all. We celebrated his birthday
with a lot of good cheer and well wishes. The Fairfield Alumni Association
member were great in numbers at his SW Los Angeles home, as we all sang
happy birthday to James. James retired from the Postal Service and then
worked as a Staple's Center Usher. We often greeted him when we attended the Los
Angeles Sparks Basketball games with the students. We will miss you, James, at
the Center.
