Lesson Review.....November 24, 2009 Greater than, Less than, Inequalities....(for Ronald ...Do the exam....below. November 25, 2009)
December 17, 2009..... A Note to Ronald's Teachers at Carnegie Middle School: I, Cleophas Mike McAlpin, have interacted with students at Carnegie...as far back as 8-10 years. If there are questions about what our Organization is all about, may I suggest you contact Mayor Jim Dear....The City of Carson supports this Organization...and knows all about us. I have asked Ronald's mother, J. to provide me with your e-mail addresses so I can communicate with you regarding Ronald's subjects. Not only have I assisted Ronald thus far with his assignments, I have taken him several steps beyond. I asked his mother to have you provide him with a Daily Report of his activities, and I ask you to please sign it on a daily basis. Also, I will be attending Ronald's classes with him as soon as his mother notifies you and signs a paper to that effect. I look forward to working with Ronald and you....as we will move most definitely....to improve his Grade Point Average.
Ronald of Carson....a New Student
Ronald arrived at around 6:30 PM. We had approximately 2 hours of one-on-one tutoring to learn all about Inequalities and Absolute Values.
This is a test of what we learned in one solid hour of studying. Objective: Solve and graph inequalities involving absolute values of the form ║A ║ < b (p.415) Ronald...you have ten minutes to complete the exam below! Number lines are just as important as the answers. Please show all number lines!
1. ║x - 3║ < 12
2. ║x + 2║ ≤ 5
3. ║4y - 2║ < 7
4. ║2d - 2║ ≤ 1.1
5. ║4z + 3║ ≤ 15
Ronald was taken to the Internet and shown all of the intricacies of this website. He was told he would input into it, as others have done in the past. He was shown some of the students who are now graduating from colleges and universities across America...becoming the Professionals of the Future! He was introduced to our Valuable Links Icon Valuable Educational Links for you! ..and told this was one of his most dearest of friends.....allowing him to do it all on his own! All that is required is the will and determination to win!
December 15, 2009.....and the week previous... A brief Summary...Ronald will return on December 18, 2009
First, I worked with Ronald on his History homework. It dealt with early American government. I taught him all about our present system, with the Legislative, Executive and Judicial branches of Government. Seeing that he had trouble with the word, "Congress", I reached the conclusion that I needed to tell him all about the House of Representatives and the Senate....with 435 members, and 100 members, respectively. I also told him of my friend, Karen, who will soon become a Judge, as well as Attorneys that I knew, who would be lecturing him. I made him know that 2 Senators were elected from each State, and the Representatives were elected according to population of States. I told him of President Obama's Cabinet, and in a later lesson, used the Pentagon to describe one of his problems in a math assignment. He had trouble with "pentagon" and "m", which stood for Meter, and that lead me into the English and Metric Systems of Measurements! Ronald should know his weight in Kilograms now, and his height in meters. I will ask him what we learned, over and over again, until he remembers. I have a lot of time to teach him, as I have committed myself to a minimum number of students. We graphed straight lines by setting "x" to "0", and then "y". I also showed Ronald how to graph lines according to the Slope- Intercept- Formula for a straight line (I told him that former students were able to graph lines in less than 8 seconds so he could have something to strive for!) I will continuously review and reinforce all that we teach to Ronald....until he really knows his stuff. He is receiving "motivational lectures by the ton", to let him know the his brain has the capability to do any homework...making not "B" grades, but all "A" grades....as so many students who have come to us....have done! The number is endless....There were so many motivational lectures given to Ronald in the short time that I have known him....that I am now confident that he understands the severity of his making "F" grades, instead of "A" grades. It is as I have always said....God Orders each of our steps...and I have prayed on it....and Ronald is now on his way....to becoming an all "A grade student....It is already done! I invite all teachers and Principals to communicate with me...and by the way....I work for free....for more than 12 years now...and because I believe in God, I cannot fail!
The answers to the quiz above will be input by Ronald on November 25, 2009....when he returns for more of the same. (Ronald got sick, and so did I, to a lesser degree...sore throat) Ronald must bring all of his books, in all of his subjects....on that day...no exceptions!
"My Time" occurs once in a while. Since I had briefly introduced Tyneesha and Ijau to the English and Metric Systems of Measurements, I delved deeper into the subject with all of the students. I asked them to stop doing homework for a few minutes, because it was now "MY TIME". I had previously shown the two our Valuable Links icon, and in particular www.sparknotes.com to be used as a tool to do their homework.
