Lesson Review C-28 February 25, 2003
Hey!
Carson students: Brittany Medano and Glenn of Del Amo (Carson): Cassandra and
Charity from Centerview (Carson)...just be patient!
"You'd better do something about the plastic sheeting that shields the students from the wind and rain on your front porch. Go out and find a carpenter to enclose the front porch. I don't care about the $5000-$6000 cost of enclosing the front porch. And no, I will not rob a bank again. You'd better ask for donations from somebody. Parents should be the first to donate, if they can afford it! Cities are invited to do the same!" This is a Nonprofit Corporation, ain't it?
"My
Time!" is a 20-minute period set aside to
lecture the students on what I deem necessary.
"Your Time!" is set aside for homework and
homework assistance. The examination below will test the effectiveness of my
lectures during....My Time.
Another Exam: A previous
time Try it, if you dare!
Examination Time! (8th-10th grade level) Algebra, Biology, Fractions, Chemistry..... Time limit...25 minutes All students must take the examination, regardless of age and grade. See Mr. McAlpin for assistance only after the 1st 5-minutes ( below 9th grades only)...A passing score is 17 out of 20. Use graph paper provided. No talking during the exam!
1. Write the formula for the general equation of a straight line.
2. Given the equation: y = 2x^2 + 2x + 3; Is this a straight line equation?
3. Given P1 (3,6) and P2 (8, 10): What is the slope "m" ?
4. Plot the following points: P1 (6, -2); P2 (-3, -4); P3 (5, -4)
5. Given the point P1 (5, 6): and the slope "m" of 2/3:
a. Draw the graph of the straight line. You have 12 seconds to accomplish this!
b. Find "b" in the equation, y = mx + b, from the point and slope above.
6. Draw the lines:
a. y = 2/3 x + 2
b. y= 2/3 x + 6
c. What can you say about these two lines?
7. Draw the lines:
