The students were given a comprehensive tour of Kaiser Hospital. They were shown various facilities such as the dialysis room, the emergency room, the records room and the conference room where Doctors and families meet to discuss health issues of a patient. Our students were so impressed that they will return very soon to become volunteers at the hospital. I saw a few tears in the eyes of some students when Doctor Cheryl stopped to check on one of her patients. After all, Doctors see illness on a daily basis and do all they can to alleviate illness, while 9th-11th graders see mostly healthy people. I am sure that the tearing students are compassionate enough to become the Doctors of the future. They care about people as Doctor Cheryl cares. It was not long at all that each and every student realized that being a Doctor means that life itself, is in the hands of a Doctor. The ultimate life of an individual is in God's hand.
It would be very difficult for me to imagine an atheist as a Doctor. I thank God that our students do believe in God. We encourage each and every one of them to go a Church and become active in it and ask God for His help in becoming a Doctor, or whatever they choose to be.
Student presentations will follow on the next pages. They will input into the pages and let you know of the things they saw at Kaiser Hospital, Harbor City on this day....February 2, 2003...Cleophas McAlpin...Chief Tutor
