An additional meeting place? Yes!! God is good..all of the time!

Pastor Sherman A. Gordon gave us permission to use the classroom at New Philadelphia A.M.E. Chruch. He promised to add a telephone line, to boot, for our Internet provider. The classroom has the capacity to hold at least 40-50 students. It has desks and a large dry erase board. It has outlets for our computers and electronics equipment. It is exactly what I envisioned as a meeting place for the students of "A Free Tutoring Service: Preparing for the Future." Thank you, Pastor Gordon.

We cooked hot dogs outside of the church when the service was over. We ate hot dogs, along with the teriyaki and barbecue chicken that I had prepared previously. We also consumed chips, cookies, pickles and soda. After our lunch, it was into our new classroom to carry on our tutoring duties.

I had written a lesson plan for the session and followed it as best I could. Some of the students were missing due to an outbreak of the flu and I had to change the outline a wee bit. The outline is shown below:

For Parents…..

Due to the high cost of gasoline, there will be a charge for picking up and bringing students back home, until further notice. All of the money that is collected will be spent on gasoline for our van. The prices are per student prices. There may also be a small gasoline charge for field trips. Those parents who assist with the transportation will not be charged (Andrew, Angela, Melissa). Of course, we would like for you to provide your own transportation whenever possible.

Please make sure that you take a turn at providing food for the group on Wednesday afternoons. See Gayle for schedule. You must give your child a little money for food on Sundays and Thursdays. We usually go to McDonalds on those days. We will try and cook on Sundays for a small charge. Parents may provide food if they want.
