"They can't trick us with these examinations. Mark "C" for everything and let's hit the waves!"
This is a comprehensive examination to find out if the tutoring classes have absorbed all. We will do one hour of examination per tutoring session until the examination is completed. Please ask if you can use a calculator on some problems. Collaborate with each other only when instructed to do so. You may take the examination home and telephone each other for answer checks. No collaboration during the tutoring session, please. Mrs. Marci Williams will add her examination on the Spanish Language next week. Ready, set, begin! Texas Instruments, TI-84 Scientific Calculators, Silver Edition...are welcomed! Update, April 4, 2006: The students are working the problems and will place the answers at this location: Answers to Examination

Did you know that an electrical worker for the Department of Water and Power in Los Angeles might start out with a salary of over $59,000 a year, with only high school science as a prerequisite for becoming hired. All one has to do is pass a simple electrical examination to become an assistant electrical tester....Are there any takers out there? The biggest challenge for me...is to find a student that is willing to be taught all of the skills of The Electronics Technician....or the Electrical Tester....of a major Electronics Firm...or the City or the State....or the Federal governments that hire these workers on a near-to daily basis. Are there any takers out there? I stand ready to teach, just as Doctor Gardner Beale (Volunteer Tutor), Children's Dentist at 8930 Sepulveda in Los Angeles, Suite 205, when he said, with tears in his eyes....."There are very few Minorities passing through U.S.C. A Message from Venelyn Yanakieff, Volunteer Tutor, Supervisor and Electrical Engineer (Retired) for the Los Angeles Dept. of Water and Power.........One of our Tutors and financial supporters. "Please support this Organization....I do! We all work for free."
A message from Cleophas Mike McAlpin, Director....."It is truly amazing what God can do. He pulled me from a Retirement Life and placed me into this position. He said to "step out on faith" and I did just that. There is such untold joy in knowing that I am doing something to assist our underprivileged students with their education. My services, as well as the services of all of our Volunteer Tutors, are given for free. It is indeed...becoming a level playing field for all of our children. Thanks to all of you who are helping us with the education of our youth. Please continue your support as we prepare our youth for the future."
