Los Angeles gets 54% of the power produced by these giant turbines. Water rushes along at 45 miles per hour to drive the turbines. Students pose in front of the giant machines. Hoover Dam receives approximately 3500 visitors each day. We are so happy that we were in that number on Dec. 29, 1999. It took 4 years and 96 lost lives to complete the Dam. There is enough concrete to stretch from San Francisco to New York and that includes all gutters, etc.!
Lake Meade contains an abundance of fish. They gather to receive popcorn from visitors. They are not shy as they stare up with their mouths wide open to receive a piece.
